February 3-5.  Ski Trip to Snowshoe
28 Scouts and Adults made the trip to Marlinton, West Virginia to conquer the slopes of Snowshoe Mountain Resort.  Despite the warm weather and light rain, the slope conditions were excellent and a good time was had by nearly all scouts (see photos).  Two evening campfires were held to help scouts with their Communications merit badge and to entertain everyone.  Troop 451 sends a warm thank you to the town of Marlinton and the staff at Snowshoe who help make this a great trip every year.

January 20-21.  The Freezeree
Ten scouts and scouters left Durham on Friday evening and arrived at the Tye River in Virginia around 10 PM. We were able to set up tents before the rain moved in for the evening. It rained overnight and several tents were flooded. The crew had breakfast near the bus. Since several bags were wet, we elected to drive up to a parking lot closer to the top of Priest Mountain and walk in to the shelter for lunch. The shelter was in a cloud when we arrived. We returned to the bus and then to Durham for Saturday evening. It was a fun weekend.
